Last week's poll resulted in a middle of the road result, where most people either were willing to give books that last chance and/or give up after a certain number of books. Thanks to everyone that participated and offered their opinions!
This week's topic:
I find reading has always been a great escape for me, as you get to (vicariously) travel to distant times or lands. You get to jump into someone else's experience for a little while. This is pretty cool. But what happens when you leave the book? Do you take any of that character's life with you?
Here's a couple of personal examples: As I was reading The Body Finder
One last mention, in this regard...I totally crave tomato juice when reading vampire novels :-p What can I say?
Is it just me being impressionable?
So I ask, Have you ever: Been inspired to try something that you read about in a book? There's a matching weekly poll on the right hand blog bar or please feel free to comment with your own adventures involving reading to real life.

I don't think I've actually tried something. But I would love to take up fencing. :) If there was a place close to me that gave fencing lessons I would soooo be there. And it would be great research too! ;D But there are a few times where I've read books and thought that sounded interesting to do. And would like to try it. :) Great question here!
@Melissa - Oh! I wonder if they have fencing for Wii?! I've always wanted to try that too :-)
Ha ha! That would be so much fun! Now you have me wondering too. :) We'll have to look into that. I know there is star wars ones. he he. My son has the legos star wars and a few others with the light sabers to use with it. Lol.
My daughter was playing Star Wars with my nephew last night; that's what got me thinking. I'll check it out too :-)
